A sad demise!

To start with i should have written of this 2 days back,my mistake.I took the incident frivolously, but it is a bigger issue. Not everyone has such a regretful ending, not every child for sure. Thanks to Divya for reminding me and asking me to write on it.

I am talking about the demise of Santhosh Kumar, the young boy who was trying to help the bike riders get back the parcel they had dropped, purposefully,he was being innocent, being modest running towards the dropped parcel, little did he know that they did it purposefully with no intention of getting it back, with the intent of just taking few more lives.

It was fate, yes true fate. Not everyone would have done this, but his traits made him do a good deed and that turned against him, times that make us think if there is someone named God,if there had been then Santhosh definitely deserved a better ending. At just 11 he had a lot more let in life, yeah lot more. His last words were,"Bhai saab, aapka packet gir gaya hai” (brother, your packet has fallen). It was his honesty and sincerity that ultimately issued him the death warrant.

Had he not ran near the dropped parcel to give it back to the bikers he wouldn't have died, the rest would have been history,in our nation where such detonations have become a regular sight, sight of blood is no more alarming or concerning. But for Santhosh, this is a very lamentable incident. His tender heart would have never expected this to happen to him.Did the pillion rider carrying the deadly parcel look at that innocent child once,i wonder if he ever did.

As i always say he is also among the luckier lot,a little less luckier though.
Dear Santhosh no more will you be experiencing such activities there,we do pray for you child.

First time!!

Well now from today i am a first-timer,it happened just today morning in bus and so now even i am into that disheartened group lol :).My dad has done it once, even my cousin and many of my friends have done it more than 3 times. So though i am happy that i am just new in there,i feel ashamed.

How could i be so careless that this happened ?

Well for those of you who are wondering,i mean to say that for the first-time i lost my cell phone and it happened in one crowded bus in the city of Chennai.I just followed my dad,who had unknowingly kept the mobile in the car and forgot to close the window and lock the car someone flicked it.But it happened quite long back. And even Sajeesh ettan, his was an even bigger misery,he lost it in the bus on his way to hit his new job for the first time. That was his mistake.

And now my turn,i was trying to be a big miser myself.I was into this all big campaign of people who wanted to solve the problem of pollution and so took an Oath saying we wouldn't use the bike unnecessarily and would not add up to our parents misery of mind-blowing petrol bills. So i got into a crowded bus, hanging on the footpath and happy that i at least got enough space to keep one of my feet on the footpath and the other one hanging with me.

I should say i dragged the flicker into getting his act done by literally forgetting that i had a mobile in one of the pockets inside my 6-pocket cargos. So he went about getting his act done in silence, and by the time i got into the bus properly i had lost it.Not much regrets thogh, thankfully it was not a priced possession and was just an added luxury to being a son and an engineering student.

And since i am not into this i cannot live without a mobile group,i am fine.I am just a little worried about my developing carelessness,i need to work on it.And the most annoying thing from among this incident is that when my co-passengers(i didnt know even a single person on that bus) asked my number to try calling in that no.,i ended up forgetting my number lol :).It was not purposeful, but then i recollected it.SO now at least for a day or two i am going to be a mobile less son, should make my dad a happier person taking into account the time i spend mobiling(i coined the word,it means using the mobile includes talks over the mobile and texting as well).

(ps:- For those readers who are wondering how come i manage to throw in so many posts in the same day,its a holiday for me now.)

Examz!!!

Exam time was on,the whole of last week sucked.Yeah, the word that every student in this world hates exams.I really don't know the reason but the whole fact of having to spend my time writing stuffs just adds to my laziness.Yes i am saying all this being a student, but the whole exam procedure in my college just annoys me.They want us to sit down for 3 hours with a question paper which you can finish writing in just an hour and a half.So literally we are wasting another one and a half hour in the exam hall.It is just so stupid.I wonder if they are trying to teach us what patience is all about.

These recent exams of mine is somewhere at the top when it comes to the most boring time i ever had.Of the entire 18 hour long exam i would have just written for some 6 hours and the rest of it was wasted on learning to have a proper sleep inside the hall without the sickening sights of the busy nerds, the useless examiners, stupid questions.Altogether the entire system is degrading the students. Not just my place of study but throughout this nation.

The educational system in India is something to be taken care off very seriously.I am not saying all this because i didn't end up writing my exams well(though i didn't),but there are people who just mug up thinks and vomit them.Thankfully i am not one among them,i at least don't try to mug stuff and thankfully for them they are not like me and so end up getting better marks.lol.

I find it really hard penning down stuffs for the exams.Things that take an entire year of concentration and effort put together to learn and you are forced to write them down just to demonstrate your present status among the rest.It is totally meaningless,i mean this system.

Am i complaining too much on the system if so i am wrong. It starts from the system, then the authorities, the schools, colleges and finally parents. And the prey is the student community,at the age when they were to play outdoor games and improve their health they are made to sit and hog the books, sculpt into a bookworm and made into ready made high scoring students. And the rest of their life is screwed up in such a way that they don't really recognize that it is screwed. All they know is to read and write and agree to their teachers and not even contradict the ideas taught to them.

They know the mathematical formulas to get the result but they lack the ability to derive at the formulas, they learn integration and differentiation but they don't know the reason behind learning them. They hate probability just because it requires more thoughts to be put in.They learn physics and chemistry but dont know to relate physics to chemistry and vice-versa.But then biology is well learnt(well what am i talking about..lol).Even i am from this system, but thankfully my parents where the ones who understood stuffs and so the pestering was lot lesser.

But then the best thing is that once studied in India,an Indian student can end up studying anywhere in the world and the burden would seem lot lesser. They make you work hard but then make you forget the fact that it is not all about hardwork but there involves smart work too.But we cannot change the system and its for the students and parents to understand that they need to change. As always said better late than never would be the bottom line.

The Financial Crisis!!!

Well well , i wonder the if the world would completely lose its financial stability because of these regular bear-party going on in the stock markets around the world.

In this post i am discussing issues related to the financial freedom we Indians are enjoying at present and how that is going to reflect on our economy a decade later.Because that is just what is happening in America now. Many of you might not have understood what i meant but over this post it will make sense to you,am sure, just read on.

Recently when i was riding my bike through the busy Chennai road on the heavy traffic,i got a call. But i didn't bother picking it up and then again i got a call from the same number, this time again i resisted and the 3rd time i had no options but to answer it.I wondered if the caller was one of my friends calling to talk something important. But it was from the marketing team of an MNC Bank and the lady who called up was like ''Sir are you in need of any loan??? because we are planning to give you a loan".I was like ''sure madam i wouldn't mind at all,but who will pay my loan??because i am a student.",i thought she would be surprised but then she said''OK sir, bye'' and having troubled me so much on a sunny day i was dead angry with her and i shouted at her saying not to make such calls anymore. The thing that amused me the most was that even after coming to know that am a student she wasn't surprised and then when i enquired i could understand that it was not just me but the whole of the student community (in particular, not many of us earn now) get such calls from the MNC Banks trying to woo us into getting loans. Not just loans but also credit-cards and stuffs like that.

The reason i said is that,if the students we are being dragged into getting loans by these people, what will be the condition on the working class?.

Now let me take you a decade back to America, that was actually when Americans really started
enjoying life with money in the form of credit-cards and these wooing business of dragging the people into getting loans became more prominent and it was like everyone with an address proof and a bank account could actually end up getting loans and credit-cards.So at the end of the day it was like people started spending money which they never earned.Just imagine a person earning 100$ a month had a spending power of 1000$ with the help of the credit-card.So if he were to repay the money he spent over night he will have to save his entire income for nearly 10 months.I wonder how the people who issued him these facilities didn't even bother to think over such a situation happening. And that is 1 reason why the world is unstable now if i were to talk about the present economic status.

We can see the headlines in the newspapers these days and they are talk about misery and plight of few of the biggest financial players in the world.I am really sad about the present occurrences, the high inflation rate, the soaring crude oil price and even the steep gold rates.I wonder when these issues will be sorted out.The plight of the greatest names ones like Lehmann Brothers,AIG,Merill Lynch,Morgan Stanley and even Citi Bank is very much unsure and its just what is going to happen to many others as well if nothing is done about it immediately. What will the people working in these biggies do,and what about the investors who have invested in their stocks, will they ever get back their hard earned money.

Though the whole world is trying to do their best to nullify these problems and bring a new world order,if the developed nations themselves are having these problems i cant even imagine the same happening in a developing nation like India or China especially attributing to the huge populations of these nations.China is always having trouble with bad-debts that are written off and it accounts several hundreds of billions.India is famous for its risk free banking all these years but now since the entry of the foreign banks and too many private banks coming even we will be affected later on.

I wish we Indians understand the basic fact that we should not spend what we don't earn. It doesn't mean that you need to be a miser, just make sure that you remain debt free to some extend, you need a control over your expenditure especially because of the new turn our nation has taken and since too many products ranging from a needle to the best cars like BMW,MERC have all started to set-up their factories in India, the basic Indian consumer must make sure that he is not lured into such extravagances too much. And make sure you don't use your credit cards too often, having a credit card can actually make you spend more.

Terrorism,will it never end???

Few questions i want to ask the people who are terrorizing this whole nation.I wonder if they could clearly answer anyone of them. Here they are,

What are they trying to achieve??

Are these acts of terror completely bundled on religion or is there any politics involved or is it something more than that??

You are completely trying the destroy the integration of this whole nation, will you never stop??

How much of blood is shed, are they not of the same color,do you have a different colored blood??

Are you not human??

Tell me which religion in this whole world asks you to murder people and not love them?

Is India and its people not united,we have people from every religion here and in spite of that why do you want to create a religious sentiment to killing people?

Have you never tried imagining the life of the poor families after they lose their father or mother, the misery of parents losing their children, the grief of a wife losing her husband??

Remember,God is watching you, please stop this non-sense,all you have done is wrong and the best possible punishment for you is to understand your mistake and never let any drop of blood shed happen with your knowledge.Make the world a better place to live.If you are caught, your entire family will be brought down to the streets and humiliated for all the inhumane activities you have done and God will never forgive you!!!

/*I cry for the poor brothers and sisters who have lost their life because of these inhumane activities by these anti-social elements. You are in fact luckier to escape this dirty world and stay happier somewhere else,in the world above. We your fellow Indians promise to fight against them.May your souls rest in peace.Help us in eliminating these terror plots and put an end to these miserable attacks on innocent people, and bless us all, even protect us.*/

The essence of Onam!!!

It is special.
Devoid of caste or creed, its more of a regional festival. It is the national festival of Kerala and the personal festival of all keralites around the world.
My family too had a nice Onam, the festival of God's own country....Kerala.
I had a good Onam, though not the best of ones i ever had.
I still remember the days i was at Kerala, when i was pretty young at least a decade ago when i used to wait for Onam to come and the Onam holidays always used to be memorable. The days when i used to get up early and go flower-searching for the pookalam(flower arrangement) and steal flowers from the neighborhood. They were the real Onam,we enjoyed what we did and did what we enjoyed. Then we along with the elders of the family prepared the pookalam.
And the last day of school before Onam used to be fun,the pookalam at school used to be great fun.The tension, the drama and the contest, wow, they were just so nice.
Then getting ready for the all important day of tiruvonam wearing our Onakodi(new clothes for Onam). Then Onam was the time when all the family members used to get-together and share their thoughts on the times they had during their childhood days. Our family is a big one and the count of the number of people there was quite a big number.
Then the all important Onasadhya(feast),my grandma(dads mom) is among the best cooks of all times i am sure, she had no problems preparing such a feast for the big crowd, infact she used to enjoy that task(my mummy would run away in such a situation). But my pappa says mummy has got my grandma's touch in her cooking.
But these days,Onam has become just another festival
,though a little special it has lost its aura of real Onam.No more holidays for Onam(thats because i am in Chennai) and no more pookalams,no more onakodis. Now a days Onam is limited to wishing everyone and then then Onasadhya.Thats it.But the day of Onam still remains a nice day.It is different from the normal routine of ours,i mean the routine of the urban keralites.
At my place we had a small Onasadhya with few guests.Nothing much.

A day to remember!!!

/*Today is 21st wedding anniversary of my parents and we had a great day. Thanks Pappa and Mummy for being with us all along and bringing us up and loving us more than you love eachother.Without you we wouldnt have been here.*/

A small treat for the close ones, and thus we shared our happiness.

21 years ago,2 people from two different system and different place having different attitudes tied the knot.Marriage as such is one of God's greatest creation(i mean the whole process,i wonder if it was God who really taught how a man and woman should live).Whatever be the case, life becomes all the more responsible and interesting after 2 people from the opposite sex join hands.

I have always wondered on how our parents spend decades together without any tiredness and boredom of having to live with the same person for such a long time, there is an excuse for the people who got along through a love marriage because they know each other well before the marriage.I respect my parents the most for that, not just my parents but every couple who have successfully completed at least 2 decades of living together,it is not an easy ask for sure.

That was when i started to think the reason behind them living together without getting bored.I got an answer, which might seem very much irrelevant for many of you out there.I feel that the reason why God gave human beings the ability to reproduce would be to keep the husband and wife more interested in their relationship(there are more reasons too,i just say that this might be one of them).Just think this way,it takes at least 10 months for the new born to come into real world. So that gap of 10 months would be the 1st interval for them,so after that 10 months their interest goes to their child, and for the next almost 2 years the child will have the priority. Thus for the 1st 3 years the couple are happy and content.

Slowly the child will start loving his parents, and now the family is back to business and the chain which used to be just between the husband and wife takes a new turn and becomes husband-child-wife or wife-child-husband with the child acting as the moderator and the reason behind the couple loving each other. This process keeps repeating and that makes the bond between the couple stronger with their baby being the bondage. This never means that our parents stop loving each other anyway but its just that they don't get bored of living with the same person all these days.

That way i am happy to know that myself and my brother have played my role in the integration among my parents. They need you for emotional support, remember when we broke into tears at school or when we fell down trying to walk we always looked up to our parents to console us.So now it is slowly time to give back, and be a shoulder for them.

Hope you be a shoulder of support for your parents. They have struggled hard to bring us here where we are.

Drive to death!!!

A sad day!!!
Yes when you are about to sit and mourn the death of a fellow whom you know,it tends to be a little difficult to digest.Someone you just saw hours back and by the evening you see him right in the center of the highway with the flesh from his body spread around the road and you look at it with pain. And with much difficulty you say to yourself, yes,he is dead.He is gone,no more will he be around you and he is just a memory, and after few weeks you say to yourself that he is no more there even in memory.
So did he really know that he was being driven to death?
I dont feel sorry for him, yes,i really dont. But i pity his parents, wouldnt they really miss him?Did they ever bring him up to see him lying dead in the center of the road, run over by a truck and taking his life along the run.
The reason i blogged on this is just because i hear such incidents very often.Last year i lost my friend like this and today another one added to the list.
I hope this list doesnt keep increasing and people remember the fact that, road is not the place to kill and its also not the place to die.Like Robert Frost says, remember "There are promises to keep and miles to go before i sleep".
